What Really Matters?

Often universities are known for their football or basketball teams.   A handful of schools become famous because of their research achievements.    We all know of certain colleges because they offer hard to find majors.  But what really matters?

Consider these outstanding qualities of Ohio Valley University:

*The low student–to-faculty ratio means engaged learning and personal attention.   Professors, not teaching assistants, lead each class.  At most schools they know your number and have to look up your name.  At OVU we know your name and have to look up your number.

*Our environment emphasizes the benefits of community, personal achievements and involvement.  In the OVU environment students have more opportunities to become a leader on campus, to make a difference, to know others and to be known.

*We stress learning not just in the classroom, but in the co-curricular.  Serving in the community, leading in student government, participating in an internship and talking with professors over lunch are all education at its best.

What really matters?  We believe these qualities of Ohio Valley University top the list.
