Life In Stereo

Do we have one or two sources of knowledge?

We all agree that we can know things by observation, by investigation, by thinking.   All disciplines find foundation in such human endeavors.   We all agree that human effort produces knowledge.

Many of us believe in an additional source of knowledge.   A divine being, who created us, tells us certain things through Scripture about ourselves that we would not otherwise know.   Our faith finds foundation in such divine revelation.

Secular education limits its investigation to a single source of knowledge. Christian education includes both sources of knowledge.

Furthermore, Christian education includes some important principles:

  • The two sources of knowledge can be integrated
  • The two sources, while often seemingly contradictory, ultimately agree
  • A complete education must include both sources of knowledge

Christian education thus draws a significant conclusion: we listen to life in stereo.
