A few weeks ago Ohio Valley University hosted its 57th annual Bible Lectureship around the theme of Children Mean the World to God. Afterwards we collected these responses:
- Congratulations on a very successful lectureship week! Just wanted to say I thought the lectureship went very well. I always enjoy being there. From my viewpoint, it does seem like some really good things are happening there and the school is moving in a positive direction. (A brother from Kentucky)
- You had a dream of a lectureship about children and our responsibility to them. It happened, and it was one of the best lectureships I’ve attended – anywhere! It produced in me, laughter and tears – the entire gamut of emotions as I went from one class to the next. It was both challenging and heart-warming. Between sessions the corridors were filled with kisses and “holy hugs.” (A preacher from West Virginia)
- The best lectureship I have attended recently.” (An Elder from Parkersburg)
- It was my first time to attend the OVU lectureship…first time on OVU campus…I was impressed. I will be back. I will encourage our young people to consider OVU.” (An Elder from Indiana)
- [In a personal note to OVU Bible Professor Mike Moss] Thank you for all the work you did with the Lectureship. It was a great blessing. Your 8 AM class was especially timely for me. (A local area preacher)
- This is the ninth time in the last ten years that I attended the lectures. All nine have been worth the trip. The speakers and topics were on target, as usual. (A preacher from Ohio)
- I was only there for Harold’s session on Sunday and for Kent’s session. Both of which were excellent. (A Preacher from New Jersey)
- Front page coverage in the (Parkersburg) News and Sentinel…nice! (A local friend)
- The lectureship was wonderful. We feel that it was organized and flowed smoothly. The speakers, as always, shared insightful information on the scriptures. You give so much to so many people concerning God’s word and that is a great blessing. We were not able to attend as many sessions as we’d like to have, but are hoping to attend more next year. We also would like to have more from the congregation attend the events. (An elder from Cleveland)
We appreciate the feedback. We pray that those who attended and who influence others will give increased attention to the children in our world. They really do mean the world to God.
